Chat with Elisa

Elisa is a psychology-informed AI companion. She can help you reflect, talk things through and make plans. She is not a therapist.

Two spaces, one chat

Elisa is your private conversation. Together is shared with your linked partner and is available as soon as you connect. Switch using the people or person icon in the header. Chat remembers your last space, draft and reading position while you move between them.

In Together, you can speak directly to your partner. Type @ and choose your partner or Elisa. If your partner is also called Elisa, the AI appears as @ElisaAI. She may also answer a clear invitation in the conversation. You can keep messaging each other while she replies or when your shared allowance runs out.

Elisa can help with dates, saved activities and app questions. Use + or type / to see available actions. Saving a date or giving hearts needs your confirmation. Saving a shared date does not mean your partner agreed to attend. Open the small activity summary below a reply to see what Elisa used.

Messages can contain up to 2,000 characters. A counter appears as you approach the limit.

Privacy and memory

Private chat can use your permitted profile information and shared conversations you still keep. Shared chat uses only that conversation and app information visible to both of you. It cannot read private chats, questionnaires, cards or personality portraits.

Grey checks mean a message has not been read by everyone it is for. Blue checks mean your partner saw a human message, or both of you saw an Elisa reply. Tap the checks for details. If a message is still unread after a minute, you can receive a discreet notification. You won't be notified while viewing that chat. Tapping a notification opens the message.

When you read a message, earlier messages in that chat are also marked as read.

Chat reminders appear as push notifications, not in the Notifications list. The Chat tab shows when you have unread messages. Messages from the same chat share one reminder; another is sent only after you have read them and a new message arrives.

Clear a chat or revisit the past

Open chat settings to Clear private chat, Clear shared chat or see Past shared conversations, when present. Clearing removes the messages and what Elisa learned from that chat. Saved dates, activities, hearts and allowances stay unchanged. Both partners must confirm clearing a shared chat.

Unlinking makes shared chat read-only. If you reconnect with the same partner, you start fresh unless both choose to restore an archive you both still keep. A different partner never sees your former conversations. Removing an archive gives up your access permanently; the other person may keep their copy.

Deleting your account removes your private chat and access to shared chats. Your partner may retain shared messages, including their original text, and use them as context in their private chat. Creating another account does not restore access.

Reply allowances

Expand the header to see the allowance and reset date for the space you are viewing. Private replies use your personal allowance; shared replies use one weekly pool for the couple, based on the higher active plan. Clearing or reconnecting does not refill it. When the shared allowance runs out, you can choose to use your own Heart Bank for your extra requests to Elisa. Your partner’s hearts are never used. Messages between you two remain free.

Help and feedback

Ask Elisa how to use ReKindle. She can look up the help pages and explain the answer. Source links appear just below her reply; tap one to read more.

To report a problem or suggest an improvement, choose Contact the team from +, or ask Elisa to send feedback. Review the message, then confirm. Only that message is sent to the team; your chat history is not attached. Clearing the chat does not withdraw feedback already sent.

Your feedback arrives in the team’s support inbox. Sending it does not automatically send you an email.
