Movie Night

Movie Night helps you and your partner find something to watch together. You each make a private Yes or No choice, and ReKindle reveals a match only when you both choose Yes for the same title.

Before you begin​

You can open Together from the card on your Dashboard. Select Movie Night to start.

Movie Night requires a linked partner. If you have not linked your accounts yet, ReKindle shows an invitation button that takes you to Partner settings. See Partner Linking for help connecting your accounts.

Find a match​

  1. Open Together from your Dashboard, then select Movie Night.
  2. On the Discover tab, review one title at a time.
  3. Choose No if you are not interested, or Yes if you would like to watch it. You can also swipe left for No or right for Yes.
  4. Continue at your own pace. Your partner can vote at a different time.

When both of you choose Yes, ReKindle shows an It's a match! message and adds the title to Matches.

Your choices stay personal

Use My votes to review your own Yes and No choices. A match tells you that you both chose Yes; it does not reveal your partner's individual vote history.

Review your activity​

Movie Night has three tabs:

  • Discover — the next title to consider.
  • Matches — titles that you and your partner both chose.
  • My votes — your own Yes and No choices.

If the Discover feed is temporarily empty, use Retry to look for more titles.

Tune the shared feed​

Select the settings button in the Movie Night header to adjust the feed.

Include series​

Turn Include series on or off. When it is on, about one in five suggestions can be a series; the rest are movies.

Streaming services and country​

Movie Night starts with a general feed. You can optionally enable Netflix and choose your country. Netflix is off by default and is only available when it is supported for the selected country.

When both partners have selected Netflix and a country, ReKindle can limit the shared feed to titles available in both selected catalogs. If only one partner has selected a service, availability for the other partner is not yet confirmed.

Changing a feed setting prepares a new feed before replacing the remaining cards. Your existing votes and matches are kept.

Availability can change

Streaming availability is provided by JustWatch and can change by country and over time. Check the service before planning your watch night.

Credits​

Movie Night uses the TMDB API for title data and JustWatch for streaming availability. Open the information button at the bottom of the Discover tab to view the in-app credits.
