Relationship balance
Celebrate thoughtful moments with hearts. On Home, choose Send a gesture, select 1, 2 or 3 hearts, and add a message if you like.
Reading the scale
Both names and heart piles stay on the scale. Receiving hearts moves your side down; sending hearts moves your partner's side down. Fuller piles show more recent activity. They are an illustration, rather than personal scores.
The difference is limited to 12 hearts in either direction. Even at the limit, a gesture in the other direction immediately moves the scale back. You can keep sending gestures, and each one stays in your moments.
Hearts gradually fade
Hearts have less influence over 30 days, so the scale reflects recent attention. Without new activity, the piles gradually shrink and the scale returns toward the center. Your messages, moments and earned badges remain.
Hearts from activities
Your first photo of the day in Our Memories can earn 1 heart toward your side. Replacing or deleting the photo does not earn another heart that day or take the earned heart away.
Activity rewards share a limit of 2 hearts per person per day, resetting at midnight UTC. Memories offers at most one per day in your saved timezone. Hearts sent by your partner do not use this activity allowance.
These hearts are separate from your personal heart bank, which pays for extra actions.
Your moments
Open Recent Moments to read messages and react to gestures you received. Open the balance, then How it works, to see gesture counts and today's activity allowance.
You need a linked partner. You can send up to 20 gestures in any 24-hour period.
